Biography
Pedro Matos holds a degree in Economics from the Federal University of Minas Gerais and a specialization in Data Analysis and Data Science from the University of São Paulo. He is currently working as a consultant at Quantum. Throughout his career, he has taken part in tariff review processes for water and sanitation companies, preparation of technical and economic feasibility studies, benchmarking analyses, productivity gains assessments, and supported the analysis of the tariff structure of companies in the same sector.
Before joining Quantum, Pedro worked for 2 years as a Tariff Regulation Analyst at the Regulatory Agency for Water Supply and Sanitation Services of the State of Minas Gerais (ARSAE-MG).
During his time at ARSAE-MG, Pedro participated in the calculation processes of five Tariff Adjustments and three Tariff Reviews for water and sanitation providers, including the 3rd Periodic Tariff Review of COPASA and the ongoing 6th Periodic Tariff Review of COPANOR.
He contributed to the identification of Efficient Operating Costs, the calculation of the Service Quality Index (IQS), the establishment of targets for the Quality Factor (FQ), the definition of tariff structures, and additionally, the calculations of the Tariff Adjustment Index (IRT) and the Average Tariff Effect (ETM). He was also involved in studies for the development of methodology and verification of the Proof of Economic and Financial Capacity of providers regulated by the agency.
