Biography
Lucas Giussano is an Industrial Engineer, a graduate of Universidad Tecnológica de Córdoba (Argentina). He holds the Certified Financial Advisor (AFC) certification from the Spanish Institute of Financial Analysts (IAEF) and a diploma in technical, legal, and financial evaluation of renewable energy and storage projects from Universidad del CEMA.
Currently, he works as a Project Manager at Quantum, with over 8 years of experience in the energy sector. Throughout his career, he has been actively involved in numerous projects across Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, and Europe.
Among the most notable projects in which he has participated as a consultant are comprehensive tariff reviews, asset base valuation studies, due diligence processes, development of financial and simulation models, capital cost rate calculations, load characterization campaigns, investment opportunity studies, regulatory advice, and the definition of regulatory frameworks.
Lucas has worked on capital cost rate calculations in various sectors, such as natural gas distribution and transportation, electricity distribution, and liquid fuel storage in countries like Peru, Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico.
He has also developed models for tariff calculations in five-year reviews of electricity and natural gas distributors. Additionally, he designed financial tools that integrate with regulatory-tariff modules, enabling ex-post assessment of tariff results in company cash flows. Furthermore, he has conducted asset valuations, mainly in the natural gas transportation and distribution sectors.
Lucas has designed tariff structures and conducted tariff competitiveness studies for various companies in the public service sector. He has also developed and participated in economic-financial evaluation models for renewable energy and renewable gas projects, such as hydrogen.
In the regulatory field, he has provided in-company training and participated in drafting regulatory rules in the natural gas sector, covering commercialization, transportation, and distribution. He has also supported regulatory analysis and consulting for natural gas and electricity companies and designed load characterization campaigns in these sectors, in countries such as Brazil and Ukraine.
